KATYBUG, THE HIGH-FLYING “TRAPEZE” ARTIST!

Okay, so we were eating burgers atfive_guys_logoat Pier Park in Panama City late Saturday afternoon prior to a promised train ride and putt putt round for Perfect Boy. While waiting for everyone else to finish eating, Perfect Girl and I decided to go outside of the restaurant to check things out. She’s not too patient with those who eat slower than she, and I’m sure she was in need of some serious window shopping. Rosemary Beach 2009 008 Just like her brother, PG’s a train lover, so she immediately starts asking “choo choo?” in her very sweet little “you better pay attention to me” voice. In hopes of distracting her from the necessity of gratifying her every whim instantaneously, I set about to spark her interest in other entertainment possibilities. Well, my daredevil two-year old granddaughter spots this jumpy thing (need a name here) that straps you in and suspends you from gigantic rubber band looking devices. She, of course, wants to do what she sees others (who are obviously older and stronger) doing…jumping on the trampoline tubes suspended from the GRBs…and bouncing sky high. Thinking that she would soon forget about this contraption after boarding the choo choo, I told her that she was welcome to have a go with the bouncy thing after the train ride. BIG MISTAKE. The girl’s like an elephant – she never forgets! Anyway, if you haven’t figured it out already, she got her wish. Rosemary Beach 2009 235 Perfect Daughter (AKA Mommy) thinks that it’s a good idea to let PG give the bouncy thing a try. PSIL (AKA Daddy) just shakes his head in one of those “I can’t believe we are doing this” ways that only men can do. OoHoo is assuring Nana (AKA me) that Perfect Girl won’t get strapped in before she’ll be SCREAMING (she’s been practicing that a lot lately) for her momma and wanting off the jumpy device. Older brother (AKA Perfect Boy) is just saying, “ Good for you, Katybug (his nickname for her)” and is hoping beyond hope that nobody decides that HE should give it a try as well!

I’ll have to admit that she fooled us all! She didn’t back out but instead hung in there until her time was up. I wasn’t prepared to film the adventure when she first started and was so shocked when she continued, that my video is not the best. But, you’ve just gotta’ see this!

After a little hesitancy about leaving Momma, she was on her own!

We were all in shock for the rest of the evening. I think even the ride operators were as well. I’m sure she gets all of her spunk from her Nana:) GO KATYBUG!

  3. I love it! It always makes me so happy when I see smart moms like Emily letting their kids do this because I know it's "ok" to let Brody do one day soon! Haha!! Brody watched kids do that while we were at The Commons and I'm pretty sure he was dying to get on one himself!
