It's Me Again
So, the New Year came. I decided that I needed a break. I took most of January off. January turned into February, and we decided to RENOVATE. I should've taken pictures, but then I would have had to find my camera. It's still in a box somewhere. I think. I hope.
March came. The big "R" was still happening. Slowly. Hubby had a training program for a new court...in Hawaii of all places. I just had to go, ya' know. He needed the company. I still needed that break. I had been compiling a walloping backlog of recipes and restaurant reviews. There were plans to catch up on all of that blogging.while lounging by the pool and on the beach. Nah. It was too pretty. And warm. And relaxing. And fun. I decided it was time to retire. Literally. After thirty and a half years, the time had come to say goodbye to seventh grade.
The flooring and the kitchen countertops got laid. Naturally, there had to be new painting done. Hubby thought a new color scheme was in order. So we went from red to white raisin. It's different. I think I like it. The painting finally got done in April. (This was originally a two-week project. Like THAT was really going to happen.)
It's May. I have twelve days left. My classroom is mostly packed up and moved home. Nothing like a little more chaos. The kiddos are hanging in there, but summer needs to get here soon. Did I mention that I am retiring? Oh, and I am putting makeup on by lamplight in the mornings because...well, there just had to be a new light fixture in the bathroom. But that requires some shopping. I'll have time for that in...like twelve days:)
And time for blogging again. I'm looking forward to a new look. And time with the Perfect Ones. And the lake. And the decorating of the lakehouse...that's still ongoing. And time with friends. And I might even cook a meal again because I'm a good cook...really. Come join me again soon.
